DUBAI OFFSHORE SAILING CLUB

A PASSION FOR SAILING

Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC) opened its doors in 1974 with little more than a barasti shade on the beach, a few small sailing boats and a collective desire to promote sailing to all nationalities across the Emirates.

Since these humble beginnings, DOSC has grown to host some of the best sailing opportunities in the Gulf. It is still a non-profit organization run by a team of enthusiastic volunteers, although now the Committee is supported by a team of full time employees to ensure that members enjoy the best possible sailing and leisure experience.

sailing facilities

DOSC features a 150-berth marina for yachts and small keelboats with electrical connections and fresh running water. There is also a boatyard and a launching slipway to facilitate the smaller keelboats who wish to trailer sail and for those in need of maintenance. In addition, the hard offers the space and convenience to store your boat while essential maintenance is carried out.

For dinghies, there is an extensive paved dinghy park leading to a wash down area, slipway and a launching beach, all within the protection of the harbour wall. The members’ workshop, sail store and a bosun’s store for some of the more common dinghy parts make it easy to keep your dinghy at peak performance.

social facilities

The facilities at DOSC include a lively licensed bar and restaurant, called The Clubhouse, which is renowned for serving up delicious quality dishes at reasonable prices. The Clubhouse terrace offers al fresco dining during the cooler months along with a wonderful view over the DOSC marina.

Additional lounge areas situated on the Clubhouse lower terrace are the perfect spot to relax and enjoy an aperitif while the sun goes down. In addition to great food and an extensive bar, members enjoy a calendar of special events including live music, themed buffets, kid’s entertainment and F&B promotions.

The private beach and Tentola bar offer quiet areas for members to relax and soak up the sun. The Tentola bar is regularly used for social functions and private events, while The Loft is available as a meeting and training space for small groups.
