KEY EVENTS IN THE DOSC RACING CALENDAR

THE COMMODORES CUP

The DOSC Commodores Cup is the most fiercely contested and competitive event in the DOSC calendar. Running from September to May, the season usually comprises of between eight to ten rounds.

  • The Keelboat Commodores Cup is a combination of short inshore races and long day races of up to around 30 miles.
  • The Dinghy Commodores Cup consists of a laser and optimist fleet.
  • The SB20 & Open Dinghy Commodores Cup is for the SB20 fleet and all open dinghies, and uses the Portsmith Yardstick as the handicap.

LASER LEAGUE

Initially a race held between DOSC and the old Jebel Ali Sailing Club, the event is now exclusive to DOSC and has grown from strength to strength in recent years. Today it is the leading Laser Sailing Series in Dubai.

Our headline sponsor, Agrecco, in addition to making the race possible, has funded a program for teaching special needs students at DOSC.

THE BILL NELSON MEMORIAL RACE

Held in memory of the Late Captain Bill Nelson, a long standing DOSC member, Dubai resident and harbour master for the Creek, the Bill Nelson Memorial Race is part of the Offshore Series, a key event in the annual racing calendar.

SHORTHANDED SERIES

The brainchild of Phil Roper, this is a ‘fun’ self regulated series where competitors sail around the Nakheel World Islands project with a maximum of two  crew.
