Another milestone in UAE paddle sport history – our three national team paddlers performed well above expectations, in the 2022 Ocean Racing World Championships and the 2022 Arab Championship.
Tiago Oliveira on his international paddling debut with a commendable 39th place and Balazs Bartfai, two years younger than many of his opponents in the Junior Men’s category was an amazing 31st place.
Also huge Congratulations to Omar Bumaid for the first Gold Medal for the U.A.E. in an international kayak regatta. Omar is the first local paddler in an international race and we hope more to come! Also congratulations and thank you to Mr. Yaser Alkatheeri ECRF Vice President for all the hard work and perseverance even when the “waves” look too high to reach the goals!
For your information, all three athletes and their helping team members are from DOSC and DOP. You and your team could be proud for these achievements as well, without you it would be very hard to meet with our goals.
Our paddlers results are excellent and should give encouragement to others in our sport for future competitions, especially with next years’World Ocean Racing Championships In Perth and the World Junior & U23 Sprint Championships in Italy. Also the upcoming 2024 and 2028 Olympics.
