Dinghy Hire

DOSC offers a range of sailing vessels and paddle boards available for rental. Rental of these vessels is limited to individuals who hold specific certifications.

Single-handed dinghies require either an RYA Dinghy Level 2 or RYA Youth Stage 3 certificate, while RS Ventures require an RYA Dinghy Level 3 certificate or RYA Youth Stage 4 certification.

For sailors who do not hold the required certificates, we offer the option to undergo an assessment conducted by a DOSC instructor to demonstrate their competency.

DINGHY HIRE rules

Hired boats must adhere to the Sailing Area, which spans the north side of the wall to Jumeirah Island and the World Islands exclusion zone. Landing on, or sailing beyond, the Jumeirah island is strictly forbidden
Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times
A mast head float must be fitted before leaving the shore
Used boats and buoyancy aids are to be washed down, stored and covered.
Last hire is at 3.30pm. All boats must be packed away by 5.30pm.
Minimum rental is 2 hours.
Sailors are given 30 minutes grace period for rigging & derigging.
Damage must be reported to a member of the Sailing Department immediately; if due to negligence the hirer may be liable to pay for damages
