The Arabian Gulf is a sailor’s paradise. With over 1,300km of coastline to discover with crystal clear blue waters teeming with sea life, weather conditions are near perfect with minimal tides and fairly predictable winds. Apart from during the hot summer months from late May to early October when temperatures and humidity levels soar, you can sail comfortably for a large part of the year. In fact, many dedicated sailors continue to set sail throughout the summer months, as the temperatures out at sea are much more bearable than they are on land.
Whether you’re a sailing novice or an old hand, Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC) offers a host of opportunities to explore the Gulf while afloat.
Learn to sail or brush up your skills with DOSC’s wide range of RYA-accredited sailing courses – from racing to cruising at all levels. Adult and youth sailing courses are offered so you can get the whole family out on the water.
If you enjoy an adrenaline rush, take part in DOSCs impressive array of racing events where fleets of dinghies and keelboats compete in the biggest racing competitions around the Gulf.Â
If you’re in the mood to get away from the city and chill out, join the DOSC cruising community’s flotillas as they set sail, explore and drop anchor around the UAE’s waters.
