DOSC APPLICATIONS & REQUESTS

Dubai Offshore Sailing Club is an accredited FTA centre, which allows DOSC issued RYA Powerboat level 2 certificate holders to obtain an FTA driving licence (up to 12 metres).

If you have previously taken your RYA Powerboat Level 2 course at DOSC then please present your RYA certificate to reception and we will issue your FTA certificate to produce at the time of applying for your FTA licence.  

If you are still to complete your course at DOSC, an FTA certificate will automatically be issued to accompany your Powerboat Level 2 qualification.

To obtain a driving license:

    • Submit your application through the National Transport Authority  portal here. 
    • You will need to attach copies of the following documents: passport, residence visa, Emirates ID (front and back), copy of a valid medical fitness certificate and a copy of the FTA Certificate issued by DOSC

The UAE SARF Sail Number Request Application form can be found here.  Complete the application form and submit by email to UAE SARF. 

UAE SARF will confirm your official sail number with you directly once the form has been processed.

    • Optimist Sail Numbers are assigned by DOSC
    • Laser Sail Numbers should correspond to a hull number owned by the individual or club
    • Other dinghies should comply with class rules
    • Catamarans should comply with class rules
