Update 02 Feb 14.30:
Further to the earlier notice relating to the regulations from the Dubai Supreme Committee, DOSC has now received notification from Dubai Sports Council that with immediate effect and until further notice, all racing is postponed.
This applies to the Tuesday Pursuit Race this evening, Tuesday 2nd February, and the Keelboat Commodore’s Cup event on Friday 5th February.
This restriction does not apply to leisure sailing or sailing courses via the DOSC Sailing School.
We will keep you updated as and when we receive further information.
Notice 02 Feb 12.30:
As you are no doubt aware, new Covid-19 precautionary measures have been issued by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management. These measures are effective as of today, 2nd February, 2021, until the end of the month.
As restaurants and cafes are now required to close their doors by 1am, Dubai Offshore Sailing Club’s (DOSC) Clubhouse opening and closing hours have been revised accordingly. Bars and pubs have also been closed so The Clubhouse will be serving drinks only with a meal; please note that a snack menu is available in addition to our main menu. Tentola will remain open with the same regulations in effect.
Intensified monitoring and inspection campaigns are being conducted by the UAE government to ensure strict compliance with precautionary measures and safety protocols, including physical distancing and the wearing of facemasks. In line with this, we request that all our Members and their guests adhere to the regulations at all times, without exception.Â
For your reference, the current safeguarding measures in place are as follows:
- Face masks must be worn correctly at all times whilst on the DOSC premises, including in the Clubhouse, in the Marina and on the beach. This applies to both adults and children. Masks may only be removed when seated at a table in the Clubhouse restaurant for a meal.
- All dining tables in the Clubhouse are placed at a distance of three metres (previously two metres); tables are not allowed to be moved at any time.
- A maximum of seven people (previously ten) per table is allowed. Please do not visit other tables during your meal.
- The children’s room at The Clubhouse is strictly limited to five children at one time. All children must wear a mask while in the room.
- Live entertainment has been suspended until further notice; specifically, this applies to all live activities by performers, bands and DJs at clubs, restaurants, on board vessels and on floating restaurants.
Please note that DOSC reserves its right to request for Members and/or their guests to vacate the premises if found to be in breach of the precautionary measures.
For your convenience, the DOSC home delivery menu is now live, including a special takeaway drinks selection. Please check the next issue of the What’s On newsletter, issued this afternoon, for more details.
We urge all DOSC Members and their guests to comply in full with all the applicable restrictions. In order to continue to enjoy DOSC’s facilities, it is now more important than ever for us to work together to combat the continued threat posed to us all by the COVID-19 pandemic.
