The volunteers from the DOSC Sailability program have, once again been hard at work clearing out and re-stocking the DOSC library. Now that more of our members are on the move over the Summer months and, after the COVID lockdown clearing out their home libraries, we have once again had a lot of generous donations of pre-loved books.
It does take significant time to keep the library in good order but the volunteers continue to give selflessly of their time to keep this part of the club looking good and ensuring that a variety of fiction/non-fiction books are at hand for club members to borrow.
We are also very grateful for the donation of books for our library. When you donate books please do not just leave them in bags in the library as this can become a safety hazard for people using the club facilities. If you have books to donate simply inform the cashier desk and they will arrange for them to be stored safely until the volunteers can come to label them and put them on the shelves.
We do have criteria that needs to be met for everything that is donated due to the space we have available. Ideally new release fiction or non-fiction books. Unfortunately we do not have the room for any foreign language books, recipe books, self-improvement books and the like.
We do ask those who make use of the library to make a small donation to the Sailability program. This assists us to replace and renew teaching tools for our students.
Happy reading to you all!
