We have been advised by both the Sailing and Rowing Federation and Dubai Sports Council that the Dubai General Authority for Sports has requested that all competitions and championships for participants under 18 years old are to be cancelled.
It has been confirmed by Dubai Sports Council that this means that DOSC is no longer able to allow anyone under the age of 18 to take part in organised club races.
The official notice states that this cancellation is ‘for the 2021 season’, however we will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities in the hope that this restriction is lifted earlier as the current health situation in the UAE improves.
On the basis that this directive refers to the cancellation of competitions and championships, our understanding is that both scheduled training and general sailing activities for under-18s may continue for now.
