Ever wondered how weather forecasts are made or how to interpret the models that guide sailors, paddlers, swimmers, and outdoor enthusiasts?
Join us this Monday, 3rd February 2025, for an exciting Member’s Night, hosted in collaboration with DOSC Paws.
🌍 Meet Meteorologist Nick Neynens
Nick is no ordinary weather expert—he’s a seasoned adventurer who has spent a season in Antarctica, sailed between New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga as well as here in the Gulf. He was one of the top paragliding pilots and climbed many mountains, so his microclimate knowledge is fantastic. These days you can find Nick enjoying multi-day kayaking or flying sailplanes whenever he gets the chance.
Nick will reveal how weather forecasting models are generated and how to interpret them.
🌊 Special Appearance by the UAE National Center of Meteorology
A marine meteorologist from the UAE National Center of Meteorology (NCM), who will also provide invaluable insights specifically tailored to our region’s waters. Learn how to interpret regional weather patterns, including wind, waves, and currents, and learn more about the services NCM offer to support marine activities.
🐾 Plus, a Heartwarming DOSC Paws Feature
