Sailability volunteers needed | Next training course 25th November

The DOSC Sailability programme is run by volunteers and offers young people of determination the opportunity to learn to sail.  Under normal circumstances, the programme runs over 3 sessions (08:30-12:00/13:20-15:30/15:45-17:45) every Wednesday during school term time from late October to early May.  It is hoped that student sailing sessions will resume in January 2021.

There is currently a shortage of volunteers, particularly qualified sailors (min RYA Level 2 Dinghy) and RIB drivers (min RYA Powerboat Level 2) needed to assist with activities on the water.  Volunteers can choose to help with one, two or all three sessions but must complete a RYA Disability Awareness Course before they can join the team.  The next course is on Wed 25th November 0815-1230 in the tentola.

If you are interested in volunteering and would like to attend the training course on 25th November, contact the Sailability team at sailability@doscuae.com or speak to Kathy Saxton (Lead Co-ordinator) on 050 9786640 or Steph Dempsey (Volunteer Training Co-ordinator) on 056 484 2901.
