SARF Round 2 Report | UAE National Sailing Championships

Round 2 of the SARF National sailing Championship took place in Al Hamriyah this past weekend. It was a challenging event for our sailors who are normally used to relatively flat waters, to have to steer in big chops with winds ranging from 6-9 knots over the 2 days

They did exceptionally well and claimed 13 Medals in total.  DOSC team had 17 out of the 54 participants in the Optimist and Laser class.

This Ranking event was the Second of a 6 round series that has been taking place through the year at different sailing venues across UAE. The top 5 overall results of the sailor out of the 6 events will be added and considered for the National Ranking.

In the Optimist Junior Category, DOSC Team dominated with Kornelia Pajak finishing 1st Zach Fisk in 2nd and Dominic west in 3rd position. 

Nela put up a great show to get her first gun in Race 3 and managed to finish 4th overall.

In the Optimist female category, Kornelia Pajak won the Gold followed by Eva Murat with Bronze.

There was a special category called Optimist Talent Sailor – Under 7, in which Florence Borghesi came 2nd.

In the Female category Ela Murat won the gold for ILCA 4.

In the ILCA 6 overall category, Alexandro finished 3rd. Leonie Bonaparte secured the silver in the Female category.John Morgan finished 2nd in the ILCA 7 overall, followed by Diego Bonaparte who finished 3rd overall and 2nd in master category.
